Pieces of Me

This was inspired by my therapist asking: “how do all the different characters view and interact with each other, and how does wise-mind try to regulate and control them?”

At this point, very briefly, a very major part of my BPD presentation is identity disturbance, almost to the point where I meet some if not all criteria for Dissociative Identity Disorder. I have come to discover and understand parts of myself as different characters with very unique attributes and it is very helpful for me to conceptualise the process of forming an identity as a coming together of all of these into some kind of Parliament, over which would ideally sit wise mind.

Maybe one day I will feel like a single entity, but at this moment, I cannot imagine a time when I am not a collection of people all cohabiting in this mind of mine.

So to recap, my therapist asked me how the parts of me interact, and how wise-mind supervises this (or is starting to – we are still very much building wise-mind).

And here is what happened when I tried to respond… free flow, mind mapping, free association, free writing!
